And yet in the most part of the country the weather plays with us in the clothes' changing, somewhere very close behind the steep Carpathians nature comes to life with unbelievable speed, having fight with dark clouds of the cold.

Spring in Zakarpattia is full of brightness, colorful, full of lifelike colors. So this the best time of the year to visit these picturesque landscapes.

This is the right place where you find unique natural wonders and it won't see anywhere else not only in Ukraine, but all over the world, places which are full of history, color, legends and they are on the crossroads of different cultures.

It is worth to see the famous the «Narcissus Valley» - this is a sea of white flowers with unbelievable fragrance! This a phenomenon of nature the origin of it goes from the Ice Age; it is located in Kireshi valley in 4 km from Khust. These fragile spring flowers extended for several hectares and formed the real ocean of blossoming beauty. You can smell this fragrance not only in the valley, but also in its surroundings. It definitely worth to see it!

The pearl of Zakarpattia is so called the «Sea Eye». This is Synevyr Lake with crystal water and amazing landscapes. Steep slopes of Gorgany Mountain covered with ancient firs, the age of what is 140—160 years, fall straight to the water surface, to the beautiful lake among the rocks, it looks like the blue pupil of the eye, like a small island among everlasting cold water pool. It will impress and charm you by its greatness and beauty of colors.

If you always had a dream to see the real Garden of Eden, you should visit the famous Uzhgorod city in April or May. In this period you can see there the true fairy tale, namely Japane's cherries, soft pink flowers blossom every year and attract thousands of tourists not only from Ukraine but all over the world. There is a grand international musical festival «Sakura-fest» stages in honor of this natural phenomena and it is worth visiting this festival for fans of unbelievable impressions and bright feelings.

Visiting Mukachevo, so called unofficial capital of Zakarpattia, you will feel the atmosphere of old Europe. The unusual architecture built in Austro-Hungarian mode, and different speech accents will create an impression that you are in somewhere far abroad in Europe.

If you decided to visit Zakarpattia, you would have to see Kolochava village, it is for sure. This is one of the most outstanding villages which has a lot of museums and monuments, it is filled with legends and tales that will surprise the most experienced travelers and skeptics. You can see here ancient and modern monuments to all kind of activities and professions, for example to «Herdsman», «Teacher», «Migrant Workers» etc. You can also visit «Arpada Line» museum as well as to see the real bunkers with authentic exhibits, the open-air museum «Old Village» that is the most beautiful in spring, the «Narrow gauge railway» museum and so on. And, of course, you will have an opportunity to see one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine: Shypit waterfall, the most beautiful of Zakarpattia, of 14 m high, falling against the rocks and creating a myriad of diamonds, and shinning in the sun in different colors. Every tour around Zakarpattia includes this amazing natural gift, namely the visiting the north slopes of Borzhava valley at the foot of Gymba mountain. The representatives of various subcultures, say hippies, are organizing here annual spring festivals, they are quite interesting and colorful.

You can also admire emerald waters of Zakarpattia sea; this is a unique natural landscaping — a kilometer range Bovtsarskyi Verkh (Bovtsary Top) which extends between two big rivers called Rika and Tereble.

If you like architectural monuments and knights' castles, you can come to Zakarpattia in spring without any hesitation. Carpathian nature in spring, ancient legends and castles will bring you to the the era of knights, princes and governors of provinces. Here you can choose over a dozen of castle buildings at once. These architectural monuments for centuries within its walls keep the history of our land. In particular, the most interesting there are castles of XI century in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo and today they function as museums, ruins of Nevtsky castle of XIII-XVII centuries (Nevytske village Uzhgorod raion), park construction of Chynadiivsky Castle of XV century (Chynadiyevo settlement, Mukachevo raion), Khust Castle of XI-XVIII century where there are also ruins, etc.

This land is amazing by its color and richness of life. Except historical and natural sites, festivals in Zakarpattia attract tourists as well. There are more than 160 in a year. But there are spring festivals in Zakarpattia with special features, including Wine Festival in April in Vynogradove, festivals in Uzhgorod are follows: «Sakura Fest» , «Miss Laugh», Honey and Wine Festival «Sunny Drink», «Berlibash banosh» in Kostylivka village of Rakhiv raion, Mukachevo Day, Festival of Romanian folk on Solotvyno, Tourist Gathering Festival «Planet of Dragobrat», the International Festival of the theaters of the national minorities «Ethno-Dio-Sphere» in Mukachevo and many others.

So if you don't know yet where to go for Easter or May Day celebrations, you can choose Zakarpattia without hesitation. Here you can enjoy the spring landscapes of the Carpathians, get rid of winter depression, enrich your soul and even skiing, because to the end of April Carpathians' slopes are still with snow or sometimes longer. It looks like you are skipping from a «time machine» into winter and returning to warm spring of Zakarpattia nature.
